When you sign in, the account backend stores your email address, account ID, active device leases, session records, and entitlement state needed to verify paid access.
Billing
Payments are handled by Paddle as the authorized reseller and merchant of record. The app backend stores Paddle customer and subscription identifiers needed to map billing status to app access.
Analytics
QuietSort uses Google Analytics 4 for limited app and website usage measurement. The macOS app sends normalized feature and lifecycle events through Firebase Analytics. The Firebase SDK assigns a random app-instance identifier and may collect sessions, app version, general device and operating-system information, and approximate location derived from a masked IP address. The website sends normalized page events through the account service and stores a random client identifier in browser local storage. QuietSort does not set an Analytics user ID, and its custom events exclude file contents, file paths, email addresses, license tokens, and billing secrets. Local identifiers remain until the related app or browser data is reset, while received events follow the configured Google Analytics retention settings.
File data
The app does not upload file contents for sorting. Account requests may include device identity, app user ID, locale, and entitlement refresh metadata.
Retention
Local history remains until you clear app data. Server-side sessions, device leases, sign-in challenges, and webhook payloads expire or are cleaned up according to backend retention settings.
