Native macOS automation · Local-first

Your Downloads, sorted before you notice.

QuietSort waits for every download to finish, then quietly moves it into the right folder. Rules, archive handling, and undo history stay close at hand—not in your way.

Designed for calm

One less folder to think about.

Built as a focused Mac utility, every detail exists to make routine cleanup feel invisible and recoverable.

01

Knows when a download is actually done

Temporary and partially written files are left alone until they are stable and ready to move.

02

Rules that match the way you work

Sort by file type, name, archive status, source, and your own custom extension rules.

03

A real undo trail

Every move is recorded locally so a cleanup never becomes a leap of faith.

04

Archives arrive ready to use

Extract ZIP, TAR, TAR.GZ, and TGZ files, then organize their contents with the same rules.

A visible workflow

From crowded Downloads to a clean system.

You always see what is being watched, which rule will match, and where each file is headed before and after a run.

Good to know

Questions, answered plainly.

01Does QuietSort permanently delete files?+

No. It moves files and records the action for undo. Archive originals can be kept, moved to an Archives folder, or moved to a local trash folder according to your setting.

02Is file content uploaded?+

No. Sorting, rules, and history stay local. Account requests only verify sign-in, paid access, and active devices.

03Which archives can it extract?+

QuietSort supports ZIP, TAR, TAR.GZ, and TGZ archives, then applies your normal sorting rules to the extracted contents.

04What if a file goes to the wrong place?+

Open History and undo the latest move. You can then adjust the matching rule before running again.
